I cut myself a long time ago and it won't heal properly?!

I cut my arm several months back, and it was a pretty deep wound (between an 1/8 and ? of an inch)!. I changed the bandaids on it regularly, but I never disinfected it with hydrogen peroxide [or whatever it is people put on cuts], and I never washed it either!. It healed like a normal wound, but then I noticed a thick yellow lining around my scab, and when I accidentally picked my scab off, there was some yellow liquid that came out!. It healed after that, but it left a huge scar on my arm, that swells about ? inch off my skin, and is about ? inch long!.
