After an ankle fracture, how long will it take until I can run?!

Question: After an ankle fracture, how long will it take until I can run?
I broke my ankle 3 months ago. I've had the cast off for about 1.5 months and can walk around ok, with only a slight limp now. I've just finished my PT sessions and the swelling has finally been going down around my foot/ankle. I am still doing ankle exercises and walking longer and longer distances. But it hurts if I try to run. I would really love to be able to run again.
What is the normal recovery time until I can start running?

Answers:

well everyone is completely different. do not push it, do not start to run unless it feels good. i broke my ankle once and could run in 2 months another time it took 5 months. all just depends. make sure to keep swelling down and keep up with all your exercises it will make you come back faster.
