I go for ten minute in ten minute back runs and I have shin splints?!


Question: I go for ten minute in ten minute back runs and I have shin splints?
They start to become unbearable after the first ten minutes.
Should I push past or should I go home, ice and go back out or should I just rest them???

Shin splints are caused by tight tendons and icing them will make the pains worse once the feelings return to your shins. Icing will help keep them tight longer as well. Heat would be better for them, freeing them up is best but difficult to do and usually requires the aide of one trained in that.
