I landed on my hand and the thumb/wrist area really hurts.?!

Question: I landed on my hand and the thumb/wrist area really hurts.?
I was sprinting down the sideline in my soccer match today when the opposing defender tripped me and sent me flying. I fell forward and stuck my hands up to guard my face but ended up landing on my hand. The area surrounding my wrist and the part of my hand that connects to the thumb was very swollen. The coach thought it was broken but I think that the pain would be unbearable right now if it was. 1-10 I would say it is a 6 as far as pain and it is very annoying because I cannot write it hurts very much. I would like to know what to do (all I've done is ice) and what you may think the injury is.Thank you very much I appreciate it

You broke it ...
I literally just did this on Saturday as well . Same deal , landed on my wrist, it swelled up and I thought it would be ok, turns out I fractured my wrist in three spots and now I'm wearing a gosh darn x
cast, I'm being so serious right now. Go to the hospital. If you broke something and don't get it checked you might have to go through surgery. That's what they told me.

I broke mine running the hundred. Now my entire track season is out.

My last question I asked shows my concern about it.
Go see a doctor . Now

This ******* full arm cast on my arm!
