Question: Why did it hurt so much when I injected a tiny bit of water into me?
I accidentally injected myself with the water for injections before dissolving the tablet in it as well. I was just wondering why it hurt so much? I wouldn't have noticed I'd forgotten to set it up properly but I couldn't finish my injection because it hurt so much.

It is because the solution was not isotonic, ie the same concentration as body fluid.

Water is hypotonic. Osmotic pressure causes it to cross into the cells, swelling them until they rupture.
It is the same reason that even pure water will irritate your eyes.
If you use saline (or make it with the tablet), this is isotonic, and there is no osmotic flow, and the cells don't get damaged.
