What causes post partum knee pain?!

Question: What causes post partum knee pain?
I had my baby 6 weeks ago and my knees have been killing me for the past two weeks or so. I haven't been working out or straining them, what would be the cause?

Postpartum knee pain is common and can be attributed to relaxin, which is the pregnancy hormone that relaxes the ligaments that are attached to the pubic bone as well as to other ligaments. This hormone prepares a woman's body for delivery by loosening up her ligaments.

Purpose of relaxin

Relaxin is produced in order to increase collagen breakdown, which results in the softening and lengthening of the pubic symphysis and cervix, according to Prlog.org. This allows the baby to come through the birth canal.

Side effects of relaxin

The bad part about relaxin is that it causes abnormal motion in the other joints, which may result in pain and inflammation. This may be the origin of postpartum knee pain.
