Which addiction would be easier to quit?!

Question: Which addiction would be easier to quit?
Alright I'm 17 and getting ready to join the Marines, and get my life started out. I've quit 4 of my 7 vices being: pills(lexipro, ambien, seroquel, and adderol), alcohol, eating for pleasure, and cutting myself. Now the 4 things I'm trying to quit right now include: cigarettes, chronic masturbating, and porn. Please tell me which vice would be easier for me to quit then which one should I do, please help me.

Quit them all at once, if you can. Addiction is a mindset, and when we continue addictive behavior of any kind, it can trigger compulsive behaviors in other areas. It's not any specific addiction you're trying to stop, but the addictive mindset itself.

For instance, studies have shown that substance use addicts (drugs, alcohol) have less chance of relapse if they also give up smoking. Quit all addictive behavior, and you'll have a better chance at remaining sober.

It's hard to give up "everything" but a helpful way to think of it would be that you are not so much giving up things, you are giving up one thing - an unhealthy way of thinking, and replacing it with a healthier one.

You're choosing to be healthy, and with that mindset, it's harder for addictions to continue.

Support groups like AA, NA, SLA (sex and love addiction) can be very helpful.

I would also suggest seeing a therapist - the cutting and pills might indicate a psychological issue that might respond to therapy. All of these addictions are a way you've chosen to numb yourself and/or cope with something, and it might be good to explore what that is.

Best of luck to you.

I think masturbating is the easiest compared to cigarettes. Nicotine is a physical as well as mental addiction. Masturbating is simply a mental addiction.

Once you stop masturbating, you will lose interest in porn. Three weeks of not masturbating will get you to a point where it will be easy to carry on. Good luck.
