So I was thrown off my horse, and now...?!

Question: So I was thrown off my horse, and now...?
I landed directly on my buttocks on a gravel road, and right above my buttocks is extremely tender and hurts, a lot. Any time I sit or move I cringe. It's not bruised, so I don't know what my problem is, any suggestions? Thanks =)

Could be a herniated or slipped disc.

Oooh, on the gravel! I got tossed plenty when I was riding often (we were very young riding without saddles or bridles in the arena, those ponies (at the time, we moved up to horses with age, lol) were stubborn.

I would immediately go get yourself an x-ray. They might want to do an MRI if they can't define the x-ray well enough. Better to get any bones out of place BACK in place ASAP!

When I herniated my disk years ago, it was the same thing (it was my lower lumbar, so same area), I couldn't sit, could only lay on my side and could barely get up, always with a lot of pain.

If this just happened today, check tomorrow for a bruise - I'm guessing it will appear. If you're thick-blooded, it takes longer, thin blooded, they show up right away.

Either way, I'd go get an x-ray, STAT! :o) Hoping it's nothing serious and your back up and riding soon! (Dang, I miss riding!)

muscle's are most likely bruised. They will heal on there own. If there not better in a week go see a Doctor.

Perhaps you broke or fractured your tail bone (coccyx) or your sacrum.
