I am guessing you are referring to oxycodone HCL 40mg. You can do a few different things here. The most common Oxycodone HCL is 15mg, so doctor permitting, you could just have him/her write you for 3 15mg oxycodone HCL or they also make oxycodone hcl 10mg which you could take 4 of and have 40mg. That is probably the best solution for you to get your medicine. In the future, have you doctor write your prescription 1 week ahead of time, with the date printed for the week ahead but bring it to the pharmacy right away. This will allow them to order the medication as soon as possible. By the way, cancer patients don't use oxycodone so much anymore. They have been moved up to fentanyl and hydromorphine which are much more effective at deep pain within bones and muscles. But yes, idiot drug addicts do cause a lot of trouble within the market, however, the FDA is removing tylenol from painkillers in 2012 because APAP causes serious liver damage and disease. The max dosage allowed will be 325mg no more than 4x a day. If the patient requires more medication than that the doctor will have to prescribe it without APAP. Just to fill you in on somethings there. I hope you can get some relief, Best of Luck!

Tramadol? Are you serious? I think that person who suggested that might be the one crushing the 40mg oxy's. No way, Tramadol will not TOUCH your pain if you are currently getting relief using 40mg oxy's. Not sure about generic or another substance you can take in the interim. But I've read about the manufacturer's of the name brands having programs where you can write them or inquire about them providing your meds for you? I don't know if this helps at all, but, also try the american pain foundation's website, perhaps there are some reviews on there? I'm so sorry to hear this. I really am. it's a shame, but, as with all things, you try and regulate the bad apples but all the apples get screwed over.

Try a medication called "Esgic." Also the stronger version is called "Esgic Plus."

It is a mix of 3 meds in one. It works well, with very few, if any, side effects. It's easy on the stomach also. It is an Rx. Take good care, hope it helps you.

First of all, Esgic has a barbiturate in it and it can be addictive. Also if you have been taking oxycodone, then Esgic is not going to help. It is the same thing as Fioricet which is for mild pain. One thing you may want to try is contact the company that makes the non generic version of this and ask them if they offer any price cuts for people who cannot afford this medication. Sometimes they will require a doctor's letter with the prescription to prove you need it. A lot of drug companies will give incentives for people who cannot afford their medication. You may also want to try pain management. They can give you different medications that may help your pain even better. You can ask your doctor about this.
I agree with you about people abusing drugs who are making it difficult for people who really need the medications. I have 3 herniated discs in my back and I feel like an addict everytime I call for a refill of my pain medicine. Fortunately my doctor knows me and has been really good about controlling my pain.

First. sorry about the pain, it's hell with any of it and you have your share. One thing I would like to pass along to see if it may help you also is how back muscles can be freed up to give you relief in them. They are usually pinched or tight to cause the problems so freeing them back up gives the relief. While this works for the average back I realize from what you wrote it may not work on you, or it may, but I'm compelled to pass along the information for you to look at least. Here's how to free up back muscles to get rid of the pains there and even some into the legs for tight muscles in the lower back press onto nerves going to the legs to cause the pains there:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
