How long until my knee completely heals after acl surgery?!

Question: How long until my knee completely heals after acl surgery?
I had acl reconstructions surgery about 7 months ago and i just finished therapy. But it hurts really bad when i sit cross legged for over like 2 or 3 minutes. I try to sit cross legged more often because i thought that might help it stretch out or something but when i get up it hurts really bad and i cant straighten it all the way. And i limp for like a minute until it feels better. I had the surgery where they take the graft from the patella tendon and I was wondering if this is why it hurts? or is this completely normal and when will it feel better:(

I'm sorry! We just finished the knee unit in my sports medicing class and we went over the acl etc. It takes about 6-12 months to recover. If you havent been doing light exercises/stretches i suggest you see a physical therapist because they will take care of you!

It can take 1-2 years for your knee to be back to normal. However, your knee may never fully recover from the injury.
