This is very painful, this has happen to me several times. If the bite is not to bad just let it alone. The pain will subside and go away.If there is a break of some kind on the tongue, rinse the mouth with a little hydrogen peroxide and water.this will release oxygen in the foaming action.But, please don't swallow any.

unless it is significantly severed, it will heal on its own - and quickly.
ignor it, if you try to help it you will bight it again
Ouch. I just wait for the pain to go out.
