Would your already sore throat hurt more after throwing up?!

Question: Would your already sore throat hurt more after throwing up?
I have had the flu for a week now. The actual flu has gone away and the doctor has told me I would have coughing for the next few weeks. My coughing has been really intense and painful (causing major sore throat), so my mom got me some cough syrup. I IMMEDIATELY vomited up my dose. After vomiting my sore throat got a lot worse.
It's 2:30 a.m. and I can't sleep because of my super painful sore throat. It feels like a stabbing pain every time I swallow, and occasionally my throat does a weird spasm causing the stabbing pain too.
Should I be worried about this?? Will my insane sore throat mellow out anytime soon? I'm miserable and on the brink of tears. :(

Vomit has a lot of stomach acid in it, and it sounds like it really burned at your already sore throat.
Don't take that syrup again unless you're sure it won't make you throw up, and try and drink some warm tea with honey in it, it should help with your coughing and also soothe your throat. If your throat doesn't get better in a few days or gets worse, then you should see a doctor.
Also, you may want to see the doctor again anyways if your coughing gets worse or doesn't go away just to make sure you don't have bronchitis.

Suprisingly, sick is soothing on the throat, so being sick will help the healing process along. This is due to the fact that sick contains stomach acid, which is proven to break down the sore.

Also if you're not sick, you explode.
