How serious is it if you experience nerve pain after blood work?!

Question: How serious is it if you experience nerve pain after blood work?
I've had blood taken from my arm lots of times in my 41 years but I've never experienced this type of pain before...When the needle entered my arm, I felt the worst pain shoot from the needle site to the tip of my fingers...The best way I can describe it is a "Lightning Bolt" Pain...The first thing I said after yelling out in pain was "Did you hit a nerve?" She didn't seem to know the answer..
Still after 4 days my arm hurts when I move it certain ways (just normal movement)...It's actually felt cold in the spot that it hurts the most and it feels like something is going to pop out of my arm..
This must sound crazy but it's true and I was hoping someone could give me some advice...
Thanks & Have a Great Day!

The best advice is to consult a doctor as soon as possible. Then he/she will be able to examine you and provide you with some clear answers. They will also be able to advise regarding any necessity for further investigations, treatment, self-care and prognosis. He will also be able to check for any infection. It is also important to have this incident reported and logged in case there is a need for future reference - medical or otherwise (e.g insurance)

In the meantime, it is reasonably safe to say that you are correct - there was a nerve involved when the canula entered your arm. That would account for the shooting pain and the cold sensation. The good news is that you seem to have full use of your arm i.e. the motor nerves seem to be fine. However the sensort nerves are still causing you grief. Nerve tissue can takea long time to settle down.
