I'm going to get stitches removed from my wound tomorrow. does it hurt a lo!

Question: I'm going to get stitches removed from my wound tomorrow. does it hurt a lot when they take it out?
they didn't use an anaesthesia when they stitched up my wound. and it was pretty painful

Answers:

It won't hurt unless the stitches are grown over. That's what happened after my carpal tunnel surgery, and it hurt so bad I nearly kicked the doctor. But that usually only happens if the stitches are been in a long time. You'll probably be just fine.

It shouldn't hurt, unless the stitches have become scabbed over or imbedded in your skin. If that is the case, there may be some discomfort but it won't be bad.

I'm a registered nurse.

No. It just feels a little weird when the string is pulled. You can do it yourself.

I'll bet it was and I hope I don't use them. But removal will not be so bad, unless, some tissue has attached to the metal or string.

no, they just cut the threads and pull, it would most likely tickle,
