EVERYBODY, kids included should try to get at least 20 minutes of sun a day. Without sunscreen, and with as little clothes on as possible. I was a sun worshiper for years and then found out I had Rosacea, which causes redding of the face, so I swore off the sun, and avoided it like the plague, for 2 years. I suffered really bad depression and had blood work done and I was deficient in Vitamin D, so I did a lot of research on it, and it is very common today, because people are so afraid of getting skin cancer. But I talked to a couple of doctors about it and they say the most deadly skin cancer isn't caused by the sun, and that would mostly apply towards, people who are in the sun all day. Like tractor drivers, field workers, lifeguards. If kids don't get enough sun it can cause Rickets. 20 minutes a day or a few times a week, depending on where you live is GOOD for you and children. My depression has completely gone away and I feel so much better. I do live in Sunny California, so have a lot of opportunities to get into the sun.
Researched it.
