My throat hurts when I swallow? A LOT!!??!!?!

Question: My throat hurts when I swallow? A LOT!!??!!?
hi, I'm 13 and my throat hurts A LOT when I swallow; the pain starts from the throat/neck and shoots up to both of my ears! Here's the story:
I woke up, throat hurt, it wasn't a lot, but it still hurts a lot.
then.. during school (9am - 2:30) It didn't hurt anymore, until around at the end, it started building up, little by little.
then, It started hurting A LOT. When I yawn, cough, swallow, IT hurts! And i keep thinking about it and just today spit keeps coming out, so i just gotta swallow it, AND IT HURTS!!! :(
I also ate at a buffet today, i think that's a bad thing, because I ate a lot. i had a lot of sushi... if it makes any difference. Well... please help me, and btw, i would like home remedies, because I learned that you don't have to go to the doctor for every single whiny thing you have. I have some chinese muscle pain oil thing, maybe that could work.

Please answer ASAP! thanks in advance, no stupid answers.

You've probably got strep or another throat ailment. Go to a doctor and have them look at your throat. They can provide you with the proper medications to cure it. Although you don't want to, I'd advise going.

you have a good old fashioned head and chest cold, get hold of a vaporizer and put it next to your bed at night, fill it with hot water and drop a little vicks vapo rub in it,breath the vapors in ,it will clear your head and its congestion your throat head and ears are all connected.do this every night till you feel better.as other posters said id see the doctor if i were you,it wight be bronchitis, the flu or any type of cold.

strep throat. see http://ezinearticles.com/?Effective-Home…
but for strep throat i would suggest seeing a doctor. the home remedies don't work nearly as good. if you do go to the doctor, be sure to ask for the childs medication. It'll be almost impossible to swallow water, let alone pills

It's a sore throat, if it hurts too much ask your mom to take you to the doctor.
It might be strep throat, I'm going through the same thing.
Some remedies:
Hot chocolate/hot milk with honey is good
Any hot beverage I guess.

Ya I would say strep throughout I had the same thing talk to your doctors and they will give you white pills called codeine they work great

GO SEE A DOCTOR ASAP!!!!! That could be a sign of something VERY serious! That is NOT a whiny little thing.

My sister's a nurse, and I read the question to her.

Gargling with warm salt water might help. Tea with lemon can help too.

To me NOT a DR it sounds like maybe you tonsils and adenoids. You might want to call you dr.

See your school nurse or a doctor

It's a soar throat. Calm down. Ur gonna be fine. Don't ask Y!Answers for every single whiny thing you have.

first of all try drinking a cup a large cup of water and when i say drink i mean TAKE A BIG GULP just put a large drink of water in your mouth, then swallow it all in gulp. if you feel pain then you feel a bit better, its just a common bug or virus ( or maybe strep). I would get these really frequently in winter (i had one 2 weeks ago) i wake up and feel like $hit. my nose feels like a faucet and its so swollen its hard to breath. i simple clean out my nose and take big gulps of WARM water. See if that helps. if not... probably a good idea to see a doctor...

Your neck muscles are tight and pressing into your throat to give you the pain you are having there. It is keeping the muscles from moving and the pressure on the muscles is the pain you do feel. to get rid of the pain you have to free up your neck muscles and here's how to do that:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about two minutes, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
