The best way would be to get in a routine. If you consistently go to bed and wake up at the same time every night, after a few days you shouldn't need to put much effort into continuing it.
I usually have a routine i do before bed. I write this ongoing story (it's nothing publishable or amazing by anyone's standards) but it doesn't matter because it chills me out when i keep writing it. since i do it every night before bed, to the point where my eyes are rolling back from sleepyness...it usually takes me 10-20 minutes of writing it for me to get incredibly sleepy.
I just do this about 30 mins before my time i want to sleep. my internal clock is always set for 8 hours...i just wake up in 8 hours all the time..no matter what. it's about habit really.
