You probably have an infection, and you can't hear because your middle ear may be full of pus. You need to see a doctor (as any person would with unexplained hearing loss). Prolonged ear infections can lead to permanent hearing damage. Go to the doctor sooner rather than later.

Have you had a cold or a sore throat?
The middle ear is connected to the back of the nose by a short narrow tube, the Eustachian tube. This tube normally opens when we yawn or swallow to allow secretions to drain from the middle ear. It also keeps air pressure equal both sides of the eardrum.
Think how taking off and landing in a plane can affect ears.

A cold or allergy can block the Eustachian tube due to congestion in the nasal lining. This prevents the normal flow of fluid from the middle ear. The fluid begins to build up often causing dulled hearing, tinnitus (noises in the ear), sometimes pain.

Try an antihistamine, take your pharmacist's advice as some make people drowsy. No improvement, see an ENT specialist.

It sounds infected. Get to a doctor as soon as possible.
