I stepped on a pushpin. Is it infected?!

Question: I stepped on a pushpin. Is it infected?
I stepped on a pushpin yesterday when I came back from the doctors...YES the doctors lol. Anyways it happened yesterday and I woke up and my foot is EXTREMELY sore. It punctured I think... my foots "arch"? I looked up a thing for cuts and punctures and stuff and it said this:

Most puncture wounds do not become infected, but if redness, swelling or bleeding persists, see your health care professional...

I have the redness in sorta a ring around the whole and it's swelling a bit, but I don't know about the bleeding because I took the band-aid off before I went to sleep. Is it really infected? Or is there just Some home remedies that can help? I can only put weight on my toes, and not my heel... The pin was about this big: |------

I am no doctor, but I play one on TV. not really. go to a pharmacy and get some hydrogen peroxide solution. Not expensive , get a small bottle. and some cotton balls. Some Neosporin.that is first aid antibiotic ointment. Take that all home and do what it says on the back of the bottle and tube of Neosporin you be all set. But if it gets any worse then, I would go back to see my doctor. That's what I would do. oh yes, pick up those pushpins off the floor so it doesn't happen again. LOL!. I'm sure you will be all right. so get better. Okay

I'm sorry! You should definitely clean and put ointment on it to help it heal. If it's infected, it won't heal or feel better over time, and then you should definitely see a doctor! My aunt's a foot doctor, and I think only once did someone come in with an injury from a giant, rusted nail. However, they already got a tetanus shot, and they eventually healed. Hope you feel better!

First of all OUCH and i think as long as you stay off it and put some neosporn on it for a few days with a band -aid it will disappear ' with no side affects.I have stepped on nails before and with the neosporn ointment i came out fine..Good Luck and please be more careful..lol
