Is it worth having a plate taken out of either my wrist or my arm?!
Question: Is it worth having a plate taken out of either my wrist or my arm?
I injured myself quite badly last year I'm making a faster recovery than doctors expected including a full recovery from a burst L5 vertebra i also broke one of my wrists and suffered a compound fracture of my humerus in my upper arm, both had plates inserted into them. I am not feeling any pain from either plate but they are noticeable inside of me. I have been given the option to have either removed over the next year and a half and i just wondered what the pro's and con's to having this procedure are and whether the operation would be worthwhile.

If the plates being noticeable is bothersome for you, you should consider having them removed.
However, when it is not giving any pain or discomfort, I would skip it!
I'm not sure what you mean by "noticeable?"
Typically, unless it is causing pain, doc's don't tend to recommend removing something that "ain't" broken.
