Question: Is Zoplicone (Lunesta) a good sleep med? Tried EVERYTHING OTC and I need to get a prescription now?
From what I understand it IS NOT a benzodiazepine. Correct?

I've been on them all trying to find a good sleeping pill. I was on Lunesta but it never worked at all for me. My husband takes it and sleeps just fine. I like Rozerem, it is a natural medicine made by the body and is not addictive. Have you tried Melatonin? It is made naturally by the body but tends to get low the older you get. You can buy it off the shelf. Lunesta is NOT a benzodiazepine. I don't know if Lunesta is addictive, most sleeping pills are. You need a prescription for Rozerem but I like it better than Lunesta and the fact that it's not addictive makes it a better sleeping pill. Talk to your Dr about what he recommends.

ANY MEDICINE THAT YOU TAKE FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME BECOMES HABIT FORMING - MEANING IT TAKES OVER THE PROCESS FOR YOUR BODY AND YOUR BODY SLOWLY STOPS PRODUCING THE CHEMICALS THAT MAKE YOU SLEEPY AND YOU ARE DEPENDENT ON A MEDICATION TO MAKE YOU GO TO SLEEP.
