if its not broken would they cast it when else would they cast it

Casts are also sometimes used to treat severe ankle sprains. A sprain is a tear through a ligament (a thick tough strip of fibrous tissue that connects one bone to another). If it's just a partial tear, this is usually treated with just a splint, but if it's a more severe tear (all the way or nearly all the way through), the doctor may choose to apply a cast instead of a splint.

they "might" cast an ankle if it is severely sprained but only for a short period of time.

the trend is to move away from casting anything anymore; braces and splints are more in use now.

It depends...... If ur talking about injures then yes.... But some kids have to have casts due to diseases that they have..... Hope that answered the question. :)



They cast broken and fractured legs so they heel straight and don't get knocked as easily
