is it true that stretched out ligaments are stuck that way?!

Question: Is it true that stretched out ligaments are stuck that way?
My orthopedist said that the ligaments in my shoulder are really stretched out. My shoulder subluxes all the time and seems to be getting looser the more I do. I did have an MRI and everything was normal! Do I have to have the surgery to stop the instability? PT has made it looser so what are my options? Also the pain is really sharp when it subluxes or when my humerus bangs around inside my shoulder. I don't feel like I have much control over my arm.

Ask your doctor if you would be a candidate for prolotherapy...http://prolotherapy.com/

ligaments are very necessary to hold your bones together , and if they're stretched they don't heal alone , that's why you find sometimes some flexible people since they stretch their ligaments ,
if you can't live with the pain or if you think you need surgery then i encourage you do it , many football players tare their pattelar (knee jerk bone) ligaments (not stretch them) and they end up fine so it's up to you the surgery isn't very dangerous ,

My friend had the same thing happen to him but his healed over about 3 weeks so, no they won't stay like that forever.
