If I sit down or sleep for more then 5 minutes my feet are in excruciating pain?!

Question: If I sit down or sleep for more then 5 minutes my feet are in excruciating pain?
This has been going on for a long time, The pain in my feet now gives me a limp. sometimes it's both feet other times is just one but the heels of my feet feel like...I cant even describe the pain...I guess it could be compared to a bruise that's all swollen with fluid under the skin and if you press down in it it really really hurts..That's kinda what it feels like to walk in my shoes. Ive tried foot pads, pills, new shoes, specialty shoes...Nothing helps much or at all. When I was 10 I was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome but I don't think that would affect my feet (I'm not 100% sure though). I know from past doctors visits that I have high blood pressure from smoking and I am hypoglycemic. The thing is I walk a lot, I walk 8 miles a day sometimes, I'm REALLY active and if I sit down for even 5 minutes when I stand up i have to walk off this pain in my feet. Heres hoping someone out there can help I don't really want to go to the free clinic unless im really sick and I cant afford a regular doctor. Maybe someone out there can say they had the same thing and here's what you need to do. Thanks for your time!

Hello,

First of all I am sorry that you have this pain which prevents you from doing what you like.

However, from your description it is very hard to determine exactly what is wrong with your heel/foot.

It definitely sounds like a case of Plantar Fasciitis though. If it's not too much of a hassle then definitely have it checked out by a Podiatrist and not a regular Doctor, but if you don't want to or can't, then follow these home remedies.

I know you mentioned you tried lot's of things, but these three suggestions are important:

1) In general you should be completely resting your feet - No walking or standing at all (Use crutches if needed) - I know it's difficult but it's important

2) Ice your heels at least 4 times a day, either by applying ice directly or by rolling a frozen bottle under your heel when you sit down.

3) Have custom made orthotics/inserts for your shoes.

Now, In order to understand your condition better and to give you a better diagnosis please answer these questions:

1) Where exactly is the pain located in your heel?
2) Do you have high or low arches in your feet?
3) Is there any redness or bruising visible?
4) What kind of shoes you usually wear?

Please, you can write to me directly if you prefer, my email is in my profile.

Good luck and feel better
