Did i rip a muscle/tendon in my foot?!

Question: Did i rip a muscle/tendon in my foot?
This is going to sound very stupid, but last night I was out partying at a club and had taken my heels off. No one had stepped on my feet or anything like that. I was dancing when all of a sudden, I landed back down on my feet and I felt something rip or tare in my left foot. It was so extremely painful, my friends thought I had broken my foot from my reaction! I can handle pain pretty well, but this is so bad! I diagnosed it as a sprain but 2 days later, it's still the same. I've sprained body parts many times and I know this is not a simple sprain, let alone the fact I've never felt something rip when I sprained it! I've read about people having a ripping sensation under the arch of their foot, but this is on the right edge of my right foot. Please help me!

There are different types of sprains, so I wouldn't rule that out yet. If it still hurts 4-5 days after it happened, go to a doctor. Sprains can be excruciatingly painful... Only ice it, don't use heat, as that will only make inflammation worse. Keep it elevated whenever possible and try not to walk on it if you don't have to. Use an anti-inflammatory medicine, like Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Don't be afraid to go to a doctor!

P.S. A "rip" is the same thing as a sprain, just a harsher word. Don't panic.

you definitely could have ripped it. Just recently, my friend was jumping up and down and she landed on her foot wrong and she thought she heard a crack. Afterwards, she was limping and couldn't walk properly so she went down to the nurse and it was all swollen and the nurse thought she just sprained it. However, the pain was still there days later so she went to the hospital and it turns out she actually ripped her tendon! I would definitely get it checked, and your sprain is where my friend got hurt as well. i hope you feel better!! goodluck?
