How to stop an ingrown toenail from hurting?!

Question: How to stop an ingrown toenail from hurting?
I went for this induction thing yesterday for work, and my toe ended up getting really sore.
So, I have an ingrown toenail. It hurts like crazy, and on one side of my toe nail, its really red etc.
I've already cut around the toenail

I have my first official day tomorrow at work, and it hurts to put pressure on my toe. My mum gets lots of ingrown toenails, and has never had to get the toenail removed.

how can I get the toenail removed

Answers:

Soak your toe/foot in very warm salt water -- the only part of the nail you need to cut is the corner where it is ingrown into the skin --
In the future it would be best if you went to a professional for a pedicure -- about every 4-6 weeks --
they know how to keep your toenails clipped (straight across- so it won't ingrow) -
If it gets infected - you need to see a Dr --it may not be necessary to get the nail removed - that is only a last resort -- if nothing else can be done --
Good luck on your job -

You can try ice to reduce the inflammation and pain, some over the counter ointments have pain killers like triple ointment antibiotic with pain killer, just make sure you are not allergic to the ingredients, also tylenol, ibuprofen as long as your are not allergic or have contraindication to these meds. You should not try to remove it, you could get it worse very easily, see a podiatrist for that.

Go see a pedicurist. They could removed the growing nail inside the flesh. That's what I did, and been going there regularly. Since then I didn't suffer any ingrown toenail
