Does Medicaid cover opoid pain medication?!

Question: Does Medicaid cover opoid pain medication?
I have had severe, chronic pain for about ten years now. The last time I went to the doctor, my Medicaid (which had always covered it in the past) was suspended because of a clerical error, but my doctor told me that a lot of people could no longer get their pain medication through Medicaid. They sent me a new Medicaid Card after the clerical error was fixed (I had moved!) but I am not sure if it will be covered now. I did get a temporary card and it DID cover my medication, but now I am worried because my quality of life will be seriously compromised.
I have read that Medicare does NOT cover it. (They also sent me a Medicare Prescription Drug card which is useless.)
I will be confined to my bed and unable to do anything if I cannot get my medication!

Answers:

Yes it is covered as long as it is a generic version, and not the brand name.
