Mirgrane like shooting pains, ER for second time or not?!

Question: Mirgrane like shooting pains, ER for second time or not?
I have already been to the ER. The clinic I go to told me they don't have the machines to help me so I should go to the ER (so Im not using this as medical advice). I have had the same headach/migrane for a week and a half now. I have been getting shooting pains and sometimes it feels like its "full" (like when you need to pop your ears) and sometimes it squeezes so tight it makes my nose run and my ears somtimes feel like there is fluid coming out (but there is none) sometimes it is a pain on the side of my head that lasts about 20 seconds. I sometimes see spots and the shooting pains (shoot/shock) are not shooting from either the back or front of my head they are in one spot and it almost feels like someone is taking something electrical and putting it on the side of my head to shock it. Sometimes it makes me dizzy, a lot of the time Im nauseous and I am sesitive to light and my neck hurts like crazy, also, sometimes when I touch my head it hurts or put on glasses its uncomfortable.

The ER doctor the first time said its probably a pinched pherephrial nerve or shingles. I have no rash or fever and the pain has lasted so long Im starting to wonder if its really a pinched nerve. Im wondering if I should even bother to go to the ER again because they will probably not bother doing an MRI because I don't have insurance.

Answers:

I see this as being in your neck and not in your head. When the muscles in your neck become tight then it effects your head. It can cause severe headaches. You either have a lot of stress[ which you need to solve} or you have something medically going on with your neck. Either way you need to find a way to have that MRI. Call your local County Health Department and ask about low cost clinics. If you have a Teaching Hospital near by often times for training purposes you can get free medical care. You will find a way to get that MRI done. Going to the Emergency Room again, will eventually cost you a lot. Wait till you see those bills.
