Banged knees in a basketball game; his kneecap against the inside of my knee, wh!

Question: Banged knees in a basketball game; his kneecap against the inside of my knee, what kind of injury?
There was a big bruised-up area but after icing (15-minute sessions) for 3 days, the bruises are gone as there are no more discoloration of the skin. But it still hurts to touch on the bone (inner knee) and there seems to be a slight bump. What kind of injury can it be and how long does it take to heal?

Sounds like a bone bruise with a knee contusion. It should take a few weeks to recover, as long as you don't do any weight bearing activities. If it gets worse, I recommend you see an orthopedic medical specialist for your condition and have them perform a diagnostic test. That way, you can find out the nature & extent of the problem and a treatment plan can be formed.

Good luck.
