a little worried about a small lump in my neck?!

Question: A little worried about a small lump in my neck?
Hi everyone, Id just like to start by saying im a 23 year old male who is sometimes a worrier over his health! Well about 2 weeks ago I had an ear infection which the pain radiated from my ear down my neck, when I felt my neck I found a small pea sized lump, this got me worried, I went to the doctors was prescribed antibiotics and finnished them yesterday, the ear infection has cleared but the lump has still remained, I wouldnt say it has gotten any bigger, but the fact that this little lump is still around is starting to worry me. I am booked in to see a doctor tomorrow to have it checked out to give me piece at mind, I did the worst ever thing and googled it, it came up with all sorts of information relating to cancer, which only adds more worry! I heard it could be a lynph node, my dad has one on his neck which his had for years, and my 6 month old son has one the back of his neck which he had checked out and they said dont worry about it, could this be passed down the family? I know im seing a doctor tomorrow and some people will say just wait until then for an answer, but its nice to know if someone can shed a little light on this before I go.

Thankyou for taking the time to read this and reply.

Or you can just have a tight muscle that is bulging out there. To get rid of a tight muscle you have to free up the muscles in your neck and here's how to do that:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about two minutes, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
