why have i got pain and discomfort in the lower left side of my belly?!

Question: Why have i got pain and discomfort in the lower left side of my belly?

i have pain and discomfort on the left lower side of my belly, basically on the opposite same side as where the appendix is and the pain goes to about inline with my belly button. i finished my period yesterday so it can't be that.

any help would be great
