I fell on my back and it still hurts, something severe?!

Question: I fell on my back and it still hurts, something severe?
I fell on my back from a height of about 5-6 feet. At the moment it honestly did not hurt badly, just light pain obviously and I was able to get up and keep walking without major problems/pain. After a couple minutes it wasn't that bad anymore. This happened in the evening so I went to bed a few hours after. The next morning however it hurt a lot more and it was hard to walk at normal pace. It has now been 3 days and even though it still somewhat hurts I am able to walk at normal pace and not much pain. If I am sitting and leaned forward (like I am now with my laptop on a desk), it doesn't hurt but laying back past 90 degrees is when it hurts. Should I go to the doctor anyway? I know nothing is severely hurt otherwise I'd be in constant pain etc... oh and I am a 20 year old male.

You probably did some damage to your spine from the height you fell. Probably nothing serious. It takes a wile for injuries to heal. If it still hurts in about 2-3 weeks, then you might want to go see a doctor.

I would go to the doctor to get it checked out, just in case. It could be be nothing or it could be a real problem. He might suggest you do something as simple as sleep differently or maybe something more serious. Get checked out! The internet is never a good place to diagnose this stuff. Your doctor will know more about it than we do after he has a look.

YES you should go to an urgent care center.

falling onto your back from 6 feet, you could have broken something !

you need your back for the rest of your life, dude !

Go see a doctor; this is more than enough reason to go. Doesn't sound like you've broken it -- at least, not severely --, but you may have damaged muscles, damanged a disc/nerve or done a little bit of bone damage. Either way, you shouldn't be playing around with your spine -- just get it checked. I wouldn't even wait for a doctor's appointment if I were you -- I'd go go the ER / A&E dept. of a hospital to have it checked as soon as possible. I'd be surprised if they make you wait the same length of time as everyone else, instead of bumping you up the queue.
