The surgery itself does not hurt, you will be under anesthesia. Afterwards will be the pain but they will give you pain relievers to keep you comfy.
They put you out for the procedure, and then you wake up after it's all done. I won't lie, for me the recovery process was really tough. But my curvature was about 70 degrees so it might not be so bad for you.

Yes, it does hurt because they split open your back and straighten it but if you are really scared just ask for a back brace if you want i hope this helped in think they will put anesthesia in a iv and that will get you to sleep
