should my throat still hurt?!

Question: Should my throat still hurt?
i was diagnosed with tonsillitis a week ago. i finished taking my antibiotics today, but there is still considerable pain in my throat and my tonsils are still swollen.
it got better a few days ago, but now it feels like it did last week again.
shouldn't the pain be gone by now?

Answers:

Most antibiotics still go days after your last dose, but this is usually to make sure the infection stays away. Was it confirmed tonsillitis? I've been to a doctor and he thought I had a sinus infection because of fluid in my ear. You may need a stronger antibiotic, but first, make sure it's in fact, tonsillitis.

Also, ignore the guy above me. He spams that "tight neck muscle" crap for every question on here. He's pretty much whored his way to top contributor.

You have tight neck muscles causing your pain for they press into your throat so hard the they make the muscles there go into pain, the ones that you feel when you try to swallow. To get rid of your pain you have to free up your neck muscles and here's how to do that:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about two minutes, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
