OK. I smoked daily for 2 years and had 16 days to get clean for a test. Here's how I passed: I exercised very hard for 6 days a week for 14 days, I drank as much water and tea as I could possibly handle, and I purchased 3 home drug tests. I took the first test on the 13th day and the pass line was barely visible. I stopped working out 48 hrs (14th day) before the test. THC is stored in your fat cells, so the theory here is that you want to stop burning fat 48 hrs before the test to ensure that no THC is being passed through your urine anymore. I drank about 4 huge glasses of water on the 15th day along with 3 huge cups of tea. I took a test in the afternoon since I knew that my real test would be the next day at 12 pm and I passed - no problem and instantly. On the 16th day, the day of the test, I drank 3 huge cups of water and a huge cup of tea. I took my last home test at 11:30, just before I had to take the real test was at 12 and I passed the home test again - instantly.
Whoever says you need a month doesn't know what they're talking about. Stop smoking as soon as you know a test is coming up, exercise as hard as you can, take home tests, stop exercising 48 hrs before the test and continue to flush your body and you'll do fine. This worked for me. I reiterate that I have smoked DAILY for 2 years and was successful.
It all depends on how much weed and for how long he has smoked it. If a person has smoke pretty much everyday for a month it'll take the full 28 days. If someone is not a habitual smoker and just had one blunt it'll be gone in a week or two.

Generally it stays in your system for around 28 days. No amount of water drinking, tea drinking, or any such thing will get it out faster. I suggest he smuggle in urine that's clean. Sorry, but he'll fail.
As long as that was the last time he blazed, he should be fine.
