Ok so I was messing with an old knife of mine and cut my finger, kinda.?!

Question: Ok so I was messing with an old knife of mine and cut my finger, kinda.?
I was messing with an old knife of mine and I cut the end of my finger. No blood came out, but a little bit of the skin was cut off. The knife was kind of rusty. Like I said, there was no blood. So I couldn't have gotten anything like tetanus, right?

Answers:

Couldn't have? Since you broke the skin you put yourself at risk for Tetanus, however since you did not bleed then your risk is lessened but still there If you have not had a Tetanus shot within the last ten years then call your Dr. and let him/her know. It sounds like you are also a minor, if so your parents need to know about it. Stop messing around with old rusty dull knives they can and usually cut you worse than a sharp knife will. They will tear the skin while a sharp knife will give you a "clean" cut, but you still have the Tetanus issue as well as other infections. Wash it and put some Hydrogen Peroxide on it. That should take care of most of the bacteria but you still have the Tetanus issue. LIke I said if no Tetanus shot in the last 10 years then call your Dr. if you have then no need to unless you develop an infection.

You shouldn't. just make sure you clean it really good with peroxide and water and just watch it.
