My headaches make me feel depressed?!

Question: My headaches make me feel depressed?
Hello!

It all started with my miserable tension headaches, which became worse than ever this summer. Even so, I worked and fought well with my summer schedule, but after that I have been unable to work.

All misery to my headache has a grant that I felt depressed. I have lost a lot of contact with all friends.

Coming back to today so I still have pain with my headaches, I have also drawn on my second appeal in the bargain. I dream very strong at night and they affect me even negative during the day. It feels like everything just gets worse and worse, for I am really beginning to feel mentally ill. I can not deal with anything anymore, and I feel decrepit.

I'm starting to worry that I'm starting to get into a depression.Jag is so hard to focus and I am gone and forgetful.

Is this enough symptoms to seek help? Could it be a depression going on?

It sounds like you, for a time in various ways have "hugged" the last drop of energy and enthusiasm from you, and you get the impression that your body has "pulled the emergency brake".

You tell him you've had a stressful work situation that you have fought your way through, and it is remarkable that the consequence of this work situation that you become in the current situation does not feel that you are capable of working at all.

You also write that you no longer have as much socializing with friends, but it will not completely clear whether this is something that has gradually become a result from your use of the work situation you had and the supposed "obstacle" that you can be experienced through the physical problems you talk about, or if there is something that has already been before?

Stress is an excellent basis for muscle spasms of various kinds, and has been in a situation that you describe, is affected in various ways. It sounds like you have been caught in a vicious circle of stress, which paved the way for the pain and muscle tension, which in turn, and / or in combination affect your prevention of nausea in different ways.

If you have any pain or have slept badly, maybe you do not always have the desire / energy to maintain social relationships. However, if it is more often than not, pain and general malaise as well as "control" life in this way can there be reason to pay attention to this, which you have made through your letter.

It is easy for a vicious cycle later can turn into a general sadness and even depression. Stress, fatigue, tension, difficulty concentrating, short term memory problems and diffuse anxiety, are all symptoms that could point to this, and it is important that you get to see a doctor for an initial assessment.

I advise you to call your GP and book a period of medical emergency with your family doctor. There you will tell me more detail about your experience, so that together with your doctor to see how you might be helped the best, and probably need to review several areas. I am thinking, inter alia, on the basis of your headaches and your muscle tension.

One suggestion might be that you need to get in contact with a physiotherapist who can assist you in this area. Most clinics also tend to offer shorter calls contact with a psychologist or social worker, where you can get help identifying and finding approaches to and ways to deal with your perceived depression, stress and anxiety.

Sadness and depression is one of our most common diseases today, and there are good and effective help is available. A typical treatment may be a combination of drugs and cognitive behavioral therapy, or each form of treatment for themselves. Your family doctor is able to refer you to that instance.

One suggestion is that you go into internetpsykiatri.se, see link to the right, and read about their treatment for depression with cognitive behavior therapy over the Internet.

Think of things in life that could give you energy and stamina, and see if you could bring more of those moments in your life. It need not be big things, but can range from making a call to a friend you have not talked to in a long time, or take a walk in the sun, buy something good to eat, see a movie, treat yourself to something and so on.

Sometimes it's good for a period to do a weekly schedule to get a better view. Please take note of some further reading below for inspiration and a broader perspective. Often you think you are alone in their situation, and we think also that we do not want to "bother" your friends and acquaintances with our "concern".

The reality is often different and you will often be surprised if it goes ahead and the courage to open up for a loved one. Together with a few twist and turn things in different perspectives, sharing of experiences, mistakes and unexpected success, that for the moment to have a shared 'common burdens' can also be energizing.

I wish all the best, and do take note of some further reading!
