This is the biggest debate of the century, It really depends on your mother and how she feels. I had a hysterectomy and the ovaries removed. I never went through menopause and have not taken one hormone pill...If your mother starts having hot flashes, vagina dryness, lack of sex drive. and mood swings, She might want to talk to her doctor about going on hormones. But it shouldn't be forever. One of things that turned me off about hormones was how they were produced. The most popular little pill that most woman take for hormone replacement. You should really ask your surgeon/doctor, but yes you will have to take them at some point because that is what your ovaries control so you will need to replace this missing in your body. I would imagine an herbal store would have great natural stuff to take instead of putting a bunch of unknown pills in your body. Good Luck I hope this helps!
