could cutting down on smoking help my lungs?!

Question: Could cutting down on smoking help my lungs?
Before I start let me just say please don't answer if you're going to put me down or be rude, im trying to help myself. I'm 16. I've been a soccer player since I was 8, and since I play right outside middy, I need to run.. a LOT. I've always been in good shape, good metabolism, and can run for miles.

The thing is, I started smoking weed last year. At first it was out of curiosity. It started out as once every few weeks with friends, but over the summer it got to be almost everyday, by myself and with friends. This school year I'm pretty sure the longest I've gone without smoking is 2 weeks.. I want to cut back.

Soccer just started this week and it's what made me decide this. I honestly don't feel any difference in my lungs because of it, but I just want to FEEL healthier overall. I don't want to quit smoking altogether though, I don't do it to be "cool", I smoke when I want to be more creative or expand my ways of thinking, plus it's a great stress reliever (painted a HUGE sun in my closet one day, sit by the lake and just think a lot).

I was wondering, if I slowly cut back would it help my lungs/body/health at all? Say i went from smoking every day to smoking every 3 days in the next month, and after that only smoking once a week at the most? Would I see any physical changes or would it not even be noticable?

Answers:

You should be able to see noticeable differences in your breathing. Also, if anyone puts you down for using weed, they can get overthemselves. We live in America. A good 80% has probably tried it at least once.

yes you would definitely notice a difference. Maybe not cuz you see yourself all the time but if you compare how healthy you felt when you were smoking to how healthy you will feel when you quit, you will REALLY notice the difference! lol :) I hope i helped! :)

Bottom line, yes it will help some. Any inhalation of smoke is going to affect your breathing when you are pushing yourself to perform in a sport. Personally, I would chill off it for a while until after your season is over.

no, the lack of smoke will cause the amniotic sac to shrivel up and fall out through your anus

Yes, you would.

smoking kills your lungs and makes you look older (not good when you want to look younger but you look 45 at 25) and it makes it so hard to breath. you would get either super skinny and people dont wanna hang out with you for looking like a skeleton and with soccer, wow really? your 16 and im 13, i know more about this then you do? not being mean or anything its just wow are you that blonde? i mean smoking weed killing your lungs making it really hard to breath, that will affect you so much you will have to quit soccer and just become a couch potato.

Play soccer > Go home > roll a joint > spark it.

If you really want to demolish your opponents, smoke first then enter the battlefield. Your enemies will scatter in horror as you unleash your unworldly battle cry whilst slashing the wind with your.. leg!
Only to destroy all hope in your enemies soulless eyes, may they perish!

No mercy!!

PS - please don't end up on channel 5 news as main suspect in a murder rampage, I don't think I can live with that k?
