My hand got swollen overnight from a bandage around my wrist?!

Question: My hand got swollen overnight from a bandage around my wrist?
Last night some cuts on my wrist were bleeding so i wrapped a bandage around it so i wouldnt get blood everywhere while i slept. i woke this morning and my hand is slightly numb and really puffy, but with no discoloration. i cant touch my thumb to my pinky like i can with the other hand. What can i do to make the swelling go down.

Answers:

Take the bandage off.
You're not letting your blood circulate.
Try to get the blood moving and usually Ice or Cold water will help.

I used to cut myself and I was also naive.

This basically happened because the bandage was too tight and you restricted blood flow to the area making it swell up. Try lightly massaging the area to encourage blood flow, and massage your wrist too. Rotate you wrists and wiggle your fingers around. Apply some ice to the swollen area to help it go down, apply it for about 10 minutes, remove it for ten minutes and then apply it again.

You put it on too tight.Move your hand around this will hepl to circulate the blood back in your hand.Your cuts will healed faster without a band-aid on it.For the swollen put ice on several times a day for a few days.Advil is great for the swollen.Get some neosporin=pain relief, this will prevent infections.apply it a couple times a day for a few days.No band-aids.

As grace_lo said,"you are not letting your blood circulate." You wrapped the bandage too tight. Put it on a bit looser if you are still bleeding which I doubt, as it should have clotted by now. If it continues bleeding, you need to see a medical professional.
