Question: If you have a cast on your arm/leg and punch/kick something hard enough, could you injure yourself further?

For instance, if someone had a fractured arm in a cast and punched something hard enough, would it deepen/worsen the fracture? This is hypothetical and I'm just curious. Any answers are most welcome :)
