How to know if your wrist is sprained?!

Today my boot was stuck on, I was pulling it off and I ended up hurting my wrist somehow. Now it hurts but its not like a constant throbbing pain. but if I put pressure on it or something thats when it hurts. I dont know if its actually sprained or if its not really serious? What do you think?
