are these stress fractures?!

Question: Are these stress fractures?
track has just started back and already my shins are hurting, but it is an increased pain rate during exercise and later on when i'll just be resting on sitting at my desk the next day. I also have these small blue lines (about 1-2 cm long) across the front of my shin, and one shin is a little blueish. I'm hoping for the best, but what do ya'll think for those who have seen this before?

Answers:

See your health care provider as soon as possible (orthopedic surgeon), for consultation. Shin pain is often called "shin splints," a catch-all term that may indicate any one of four conditions associated with strenuous exercise, usually after a period of relative inactivity.

Posterior Tibial Shin Splints.
Tibial Periostitis.
Anterior Compartment Syndrome.
Stress Fractures.

Sharply localized pain and tenderness in the tibia one or two inches (3-5 cm) below the knee is typical of a stress fracture. Just as with stress fractures of the foot, these are likely to occur two or three weeks into an increased training program after the legs have taken a real pounding. As with stress fractures of the foot, stress fractures of the tibia aren't treated with casts, but with rest.

Stress Fractures. These require rest from running, usually for a month, before gradually starting to recondition your legs. Complete healing requires between four and six weeks. Crutches can be used but usually aren't necessary.
I hope this helps you. And good luck.
