rotator cuff injury prone to shoulder dislocation?!

Question: Rotator cuff injury prone to shoulder dislocation?
I got in a motorcycle accident about 8 months ago and injuried my shoulder. Nothing was broken but the degree of motion was significantly reduced. I completed 4 months of physical therapy and stopped because I entered college. My PT doc said my rotor cuff was weak and didn't have normal movement almost 6 months after the accident. My question is whether this rotor cuff injury has an effect on shoulder dislocation. I dislocated my shoulder 3 times in 1 week. I'm currently in a sling and going to meet with a orthopedic this week.

Answers:

Yes, this will affect shoulder dislocation. Your surgeon will be keen( most of them are) to slice you open and operate. Get at least 3 opinions and not from all the same kinds of surgeons. It depends on a few factors, chiefly how large the tear is in the rotator cuff ( there are 4 main muscles). Go to a few different shoulder specialists to make a better decision about your shoulder. It will take time to build it up - it is arduous and laborious, but hang in there.

when your rotor cuff was injured and you didn't finish your physical therapy it didn't heal. now it will be messed up for quite awhile.
