I don't get enough sleep..? 10 points!?!

Question: I don't get enough sleep..? 10 points!?
Okay, so I never get enough sleep because I get too much homework and by the time I'm done it's always like 11:30pm. And then I have to wake up at 7 in the morning. I feel so tired in the morning and I am never able to pay full attention in class, it's really annoying. What are some things I can do if I don't get enough sleep? Are there any foods, exercises, etc that will give me energy and not make so sleepy all the time?

Answers:

try to do one hw assignment at a time and try not to slack off. and eat a healthy breakfast every morning

Okay first of all, you are not alone. I sleep at 11:30 pm and wake up at 5:30 am because my school is far away and I have to beat the traffic. Dont try to take anything that will give you instant energy like caffeine because sooner or later, you will crash. I keep myself awake by talking to friends about things that I like and that way I will not get bored. You should try that too. If that doesn't work, go wash your face or do some stretching exercises. Just do something that will get your blood flowing.

Pehaps time management is one of your problems.

To get your homework finished earlier you may have to start earlier so perhaps you may have to reduce your time on other activities or even skip some of them.

Time management is discussed in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22t…

Sugar! Sugar! Sugar! Sugar will help you stay awake. Also, I have the same problem. I go to the bathroom and put water on my face in between each class. I am so sorry that you are going through the same sleep deprivation as me. Try some tips that I suggested and lemme know if it works for you.

Milk for calcium, vitamin A and D
chicken, turkey breast, egg whites and salmon for protein( fish helps the brain too)
Vitamin B is for Brain, omega 3 from nuts like walnuts and almonds
brown rice and oatmeal for good carbs

Manage your time
More wisely

The first step to improving the quality of your rest is finding out how much sleep you need. How much sleep is enough? While sleep requirements vary slightly from person to person, most healthy adults need at least 8 hours of sleep each night to function at their best.
Set a regular bedtime.
Go to bed at the same time every night. Choose a time when you normally feel tired, so that you don’t toss and turn. Try not to break this routine on weekends when it may be tempting to stay up late.
Wake up at the same time every day.
If you’re getting enough sleep, you should wake up naturally without an alarm. If you need an alarm clock to wake up on time, you may need to set an earlier bedtime.
Nap to make up for lost sleep.
If you need to make up for a few lost hours, opt for a daytime nap rather than sleeping late. This strategy allows you to pay off your sleep debt without disturbing your natural sleep–wake rhythm
Be smart about napping.
While taking a nap can be a great way to recharge, especially for older adults, it can make insomnia worse.
Fight after–dinner drowsiness.
If you find yourself getting sleepy way before your bedtime, get off the couch and do something mildly stimulating to avoid falling asleep, such as washing the dishes, calling a friend, or getting clothes ready for the next day.
