Sharp pain in the back of eye? Help please!?!

Question: Sharp pain in the back of eye? Help please!?
Hi, my sister is having a terrible pain in the back of her eye, she says it feels like a needle being inserted in the back of her eye, and if she touches her eye (eye lids closed off course) it hurts more, right now she is trying to sleep but i am pretty worried, what could it be?

Answers:

That pain can be caused by tight neck muscles that are touching the nerves for the eyes. The nerves for the eyes go to the back of the head where they pass next to the neck muscles which go to the top of your head. When the neck muscles are tight they can press into the nerves for the eyes which causes a pain on the back of them where the nerve is attached. Freeing up the neck muscles should get rid of the pain and here's how to do that:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about one minute, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

well, is very difficult to answer without seeing the eye, 'cause there are dozens of diseases which can cause eye pain! The only my advice is to go to the ophthalmologist asap, the "visit" by the optometrist is not enough... with the eyes there's nothing to joke!!!!!

Tell her to get to the eye doctor or her general doctor right away.
