Does anyone know what this pain could be in my hip?!

Hi, I've got this pain on my hip bone and the hip bone area. I'm a dancer, and the dancing I do is very strenuous and physical, and you have to be very agile. In November last year was the first time I felt my hip, and while dancing it seemed to "pop" and this caused me a great deal of pain. However i just rested it for a week and it was fine, apart form the pain coming back now and then but nothing that freeze gel couldn't handle. So I carried on dancing and the same thing has happened again just a day ago! I was dancing and my hip was slightly sore, so I took some ibruprofen and got on with it. Though while dancing, i heard my hip "pop" and was again in extreme pain. After this happening, I can't take any wait on it so walking about is hard and its sore when I sit down and when someone puts even a tiny amount of pressure near the hip bone area. I have a physio appointment booked, though just wondering if anyone could tell me if they have any idea what might be wrong.
