How is respiration counted?!

Question: How is respiration counted?
Answers:

Normal breathing while at rest. An inhale and exhale counts as one. Count breaths for 10-15 seconds, then multiply by 6 or 4 accordingly to find your normal number of breaths per minute.
Pulse is different in that it is a measure of your heartbeats. You can speed up or slow down your heartbeats by breathing more shallowly and more frequently or more deeply and less frequently. You can hold your breath for a minute and still have a pulse, so your pulse is not a measure of your respiration.
Counting respiration is different than determining capacity of respiration, which can only be performed by a physician or respiratory therapist utilizing various tests under varying circumstances (at rest, after exercise, etc.).

Like your pulse is how I did it back in the day an I haven't heard of any changes. Your respiration is counted for 15 seconds and multiplied by four.
