IT IS 2AM I HAVE BED BUG PARANOIA I AM SHAKING RIGHT NOW??!!?!

Question: IT IS 2AM I HAVE BED BUG PARANOIA I AM SHAKING RIGHT NOW??!!?
Ok so I am convinced I have bed bugs cos I saw some in my trousers this night, changed them and this morning I had bites all over my legs. I cannot sleep in my bed, my dad just checked my mattress, trousers etc. And said there was nothing there and that I should grow up but I am certain I have seen them. It is 2am right now and I keep flinching and opening my eyes thinking that they are crawling on me, I am crying hysterically right now everyone is asleep and I just want to sleep but I am so paranoid and scared what should I do!!!

You usually can't see the bedbugs unless you're a professional and you know what you're looking for. They train dogs to sniff 'em out, and they seem to do better than professionals. So you could still have them, even though your dad didn't see any.

On the up side, it's easy to kill bed bugs by baking them in 115 degree heat for about an hour. On the down side, this is winter, and that will be tough to do.
Here in Texas, we can put our bedbug-infested stuff in our cars and vans and backyard storage sheds for an afternoon, and they're good to go. If it's clothes, you can wash and dry them, and they'll be fine. If it's a mattress, you can put it in a big plastic mattress bag with a bit of insecticide, and it'll be fine--in a few months (gotta give the stuff time to work). But chances are the bugs are in cracks and crevices, and their eggs are here & there & everywhere, so you'll need either a long hot spell with some powerful heating equipment, or an exterminator.

If you're concerned about the bugs biting you while you sleep, you could wrap yourself up in a something like mosquito netting, but finer -- maybe the same material they make nylon stockings out of. The bugs can't get you through that.

I wonder if the same insect repellant they use for mosquitos and chiggers works on bedbugs? It's worth a try . . .

Good luck . . .

I had the same problem! All you have to do to get rid of them is, jump up and down, spin until you fall, then run into the front yard chanting:
Bed bugs, bed bugs
laying in my bed
bed bugs, bed bugs
eating off my legs
bed bugs, bed bugs
you know that you must go
bye bye bed bugs
I hate you all, go die!

That will take care of it.

OK just calm down! BREATH DEEPLY! turn on your light a wipe your bed down. You are okay if there is anything there it wont hurt you and you need to beleive that you may be makiing it up in your mind and you are okay! good luck and dont worry

Then leave home & go stay at a friend's place. Why stay there & get bit and go crazy about it ? Just leave. Find another place to stay & sleep.

Sleep on the sofa. But don't stand on the carpet as there are bugs living in that as well as your mattress.

You ever show you're Dad the bites? Tell him he's an a$$hole for not believing you!

Stop doing cocaine before bed and you should be fine

When I was a senior in high school I got bed bugs from my then boyfriend, so I understand what the anxiety is like.

First you want to make sure you do actually have bed bugs (and aren't just being paranoid)
if you see another bug, try to get a closer look. Bed bugs are very small and they are almost flat.
Also, if you don't want to wait till you see another one... try showing your dad the actual bites on your legs. Tell him that if he doesn't have your room sprayed the bugs will (and they will very quickly) spread to the rest of your house and it will be very expensive to get rid of them.

While you are waiting for the bug guys to come make sure that you do not wear your pjs out of your room after sleep, shake out your clothes before putting them on and don't sit anywhere in your room after you are dress, avoid hanging out anywhere but your room because it's very easy to carry the bugs with you. -That's all the stuff I did and thankfully the infestation stayed only in my bedroom.

Good luck to you and try to relax.
