How do I remove cactus spines?!

Question: How do I remove cactus spines?

I have microscopic cactus spines embedded in my hands from a prickly-pear cactus. I can't see them, but the area around them is inflamed and has pustules formed around it. The spines are invisible to the naked eye, so tweezers won't work- especially with the swelling. Any ideas?
